About Us
The Life Drawing Studio Group (LDSG) has been serving a community of artists for the past 30 years. Our uninstructed studio workshops run twice a week, year round, and we also conduct several instructed classes each month.
We are a subscription only program and do not accommodate walk-in participation.
Subscriptions are available on a trimester basis, with series running:
- January-May
- June-August
- September-December.
In addition to our life drawing studio sessions LDSG conducts a variety of other art programs. We offer instructed art classes in life drawing, as well as art classes for the community at large. In addition to our life drawing studio sessions LDSG conducts a variety of other art programs. We offer instructed art classes in life drawing, as well as art classes for the community at large. LDSG has also helped many high school students get accepted to the nation’s top art schools through our portfolio preparation classes. We sponsor trips to museums, art exhibits and cultural events, and coordinate and curate our own art exhibitions.
More Workshop Details
- Each life drawing workshop is 3 hours long, and is divided into 20 minute sets of poses.
- Models are always nude, and poses range in duration from 1 to 20 minutes.
- We always play music while we draw (generally classic rock, blues, and jazz), and it is not unusual for there to be conversation.
- Most of our artists are long term members of the group, and several have been drawing with us for well over 20 years. While our studio sessions adhere to the highest professional standards, the atmosphere is very laid back, relaxed and casual.
- A typical session might consist of 10 one, 5 two, 4 five, 2 ten, and 3 twenty minute poses.
- Serious artists of all ability levels who are interested in sketching from a live model are invited to attend.
- Anyone under the age of 18 must have parental permission.
- Photography, wet or dust producing media, and solicitation of models are strictly prohibited.

We have a wonderful, supportive community of people that share a love for the arts. While many of our artists have been regular participants for over twenty years, we welcome new artist members, and we’re always happy to work with new models!
